have a holistic approach, use bio-compatible materials and patients who have a similar interest in holistic/biological dentistry and provide education and care in
preventative and restorative dental practices.

Since 1975, the founder Dr. R. Andrew Landerman has been one of the forerunners in the field of
Biological Dentistry (also known as Holistic Dentistry or Systemic Dentistry), along with Mercury-free
and Mercury-safe Dentistry, Dr. Landerman has been teaching and advocating that the body cannot be violated with incompatible dental materials and procedures.

At Biological Dental Center we take great pride in providing long-lasting mercury-safe and metal -free, contemporary, cosmetic, and non-toxic biological dentistry. We use safe protocols to minimize the
patients exposure to mercury vapor as well as side effects of dental materials on the overall health of

Citizens for a better Spring hill in Tennessee supported by Consumers for Dental Choice were delighted when the city council voted 8-1 against the proposed crematory, protecting the community’s children from this major source of dental mercury pollution.

Bangladeshi named VP of World Alliance for Mercury-Free Dentistry

UNB, Dhaka

The World Alliance for Mercury-Free Dentistry has named Dr Shahriar Hossain, Secretary General of Environment and Social Development Organization-ESDO, Bangladesh, and Steering Committee Member of IPEN, a US based Global NGO Network, as its vice-president for South Asia.

"We have selected Dr Shahriar Hossain at the most critical time in the history of the battle to get mercury out of dentistry," CharlesBrown, president, World Alliance for Mercury-Free Dentistry said, according to a press release received here fromWashington on Wednesday.

"South Asia is a crucial arena for the transition to mercury-free dentistry, and we are delighted to have a man of Shahriar's intellectual and social skills to be our advocate to the governments, the NGOs, and the people of the region," UK dentist Graeme Munro-Hall, Chairman of the World Alliance's Transition and Training Task Force, said.

The World Alliance for Mercury-Free Dentistry is coalition of NGOs on five continents whose primary mission is to secure a place for dental amalgam in that mercury treaty. It is organized with regional vice presidents and national chapters.

 

Another city calls for the end of amalgam 
On October 10, the City Council of Malibu, California passed a resolutionsupporting “national and worldwide efforts to reduce anthropogenic [man-made] sources of mercury to the environment.”  Specifically, the city endorsed “efforts by UNEP [the United Nations Environmental Programme] to adopt an international treaty to phase out each of the above five major mercury pollutants”:  batteries, electric switches and relays, measuring devices, mercury-containing lamps…and dental amalgam. 

Malibu is the third California city to call for the phase-out of dental amalgam, following the resolution of the city council of Costa Mesa and the proclamation by the Mayor of Santa Ana. 

The Malibu City Council called on dentists in its city to “educate patients about alternatives to mercury amalgam for fillings.”  This is an important step because most pro-mercury dentists still refer to mercury fillings as “silver fillings” – a marketing term that deceives consumers.

Charlotte Pritt, Chair of the State and Local Public Officials Mercury-Free Caucus and a former state Senator from West Virginia, observed:  “The momentum is growing in this country for the full phase-out of amalgam.  California represents the epicenter of a grassroots movement to drive out this primitive, pre-Civil War pollutant.”
